EU Supports Economic Growth of Kastamonu, Malatya and Tokat - 05.09.2012
The European Union is providing €9 million to Turkey for the establishment of three Business Incubators in Kastamonu, Malatya and Tokat. The Incubators, designed to foster growth among small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), will help Turkish firms flourish by enabling collaboration and offering valuable support structures.
Business Incubators, which will be established in Kastamonu, Malatya and Tokat under the Regional Competitiveness Operational Programme, will assist small firms in their difficult start-up period by providing office space and production areas. Companies located in the Incubators will also receive administrative and technical support, as well as training to develop their businesses. Moreover, Incubators will serve as a base for networking with high-tech industries, universities and public organisations.
The EU's financial assistance under the Regional Competitiveness Programme is designed to increase the competitiveness of 43 provinces in Turkey in order to attract and maintain sustainable economic activity. This, in turn, will help create wealth and employment opportunities. To this end, the EU is supporting some 60 additional projects in order to increase the competitiveness of the small and medium-sized enterprises located in those provinces. The EU's total contribution to these projects is expected to reach €480 million.-
