The overall objective of the project is to facilitate the reunification of Cyprus by encouraging the economic development of the Turkish Cypriot community with particular emphasis on the economic integration of the island, on improving contacts between the two communities and with the EU and on preparation for the acquis.

The following services will be provided within the scope of this Project:

  • To contribute to the preparation of grant schemes, including providing input for drafting guidelines.
  • To support the launching and evaluation phase of grant schemes
  • To provide capacity building (including trainings) to potential applicants and other relevant stakeholders
  • To support the monitoring and implementation of the awarded projects, also including ex-post monitoring of closed projects
  • To take over the Monitoring Information System (MIS), keep it updated and maintained
  • To prepare studies, evaluations, needs assessments, reports and other ad hoc assistance aiming to support the Contracting Authority in programming and decision-making exercises, upon request

The overall objective of the project is to reduce anthropogenic GHG emissions to contribute to the global efforts to mitigate climate change in line with the scientific evidence. More specifically, the project will contribute to an increased capacity for transposition of EU legislation and capacity building on F-Gases. The following services will be provided for transposition of EU legislation and capacity building on F-Gases:

  • Preparation of a fully fletched national legislation, establishing data base, conducting e-reporting and registry activities
  • Dissemination of country-wide training and certification programme for personnel and companies performing in this field
  • Awareness raising activities for environment-friendly alternatives of F-Gases
  • Preventing leakages and emissions of F-gases
  • Preparation of an estimation including data collection and survey studies with application of Tier 2 and Tier 3 methodologies
  • Promoting phase out and proper waste treatment

With a budget of 109.150.- EUR ANKON claimed full responsibility of the Project, which entails the forming of the infrastructure for the assessment of alternative models for tourism and managing promotional and communicational activities to establish the branding of the provinces in the region. It calls forth the historical, natural and cultural potential in order to establish a sustainable tourism in Eastern Black Sea Region. The Project also involves the design and implementation of the regional development plan focusing on tourism and private sector development. It asks for the preparation of the master plan of Haçka Yaylası, Uzungöl, Sera Gölü in Trabzon and Ovit Yaylası in Rize province. The Project required the assessment of current status of regional tourism opportunities for the four seasons. The detailed tasks covered include:

  • Awareness rising activities planned and implemented to increase women’s participation in the tourism sector
  • Design and delivery of Communication Plan
  • Workshop organisations and analysis of current status
  • Management of promotion activities, communicating with potential actors at the region, aiming to reach national and international investors

The scope of the work is related with the investigation of present status of technical education management; present situation of facilities and relevant equipment in the schools; industrial needs for industrial automation technology applications; demand for technicians & mid-term engineers prior to the implementation of the requested project.

ANKON’s main responsibilities included: 

  • Collection of data/info was collected from related stakeholders via interviews, surveys and meetings to deliver detailed reports on the current status of TVET.
  • Following duties were conducted for each of the target countries;
  • Designing methodology for an investigation/questionnaires and execute the following duties;
  • Social and economic analysis of target countries;
  • Policy and Development Plan Analysis on Technical & Vocational Education, Industrial, and Employment;
  • Outline of Technical & Vocational education sector structure and analysis of its technical level;
  • Outline of other international project (s) conducted in relevant sector,
  • Compilation of Analysed results/Recommendations and preparation of Draft Final Report.
  • Preparing of the Report which presented the results of a survey designed and carried out to identify the current state of play and challenges of developing technical and vocational training and education systems in the outreach of Central Asia and the Middle East.
  • Designing a survey on the basis of the plans of the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) of the Republic of Turkey to transfer its knowledge and experience acquired in the field of vocational education with regards to industrial automation technologies.
  • Improvement and capacity building of the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE) as a result of the cooperation scheme with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) during 2001-2006. JICA further supports dissemination and extension of this capacity to vocational and technical teachers of industrial automation technologies in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Iran and Pakistan.
  • The Report was a compilation and analysis of information on the current and planned vocational training and education in these countries, along with their national development policies that may steer the education policies in turn
  • The report was utilized in the establishment of the “International Vocational Education Training Centre” in Izmir-Turkey.

The Trade Mission was organized by the Royal Netherlands Embassy, between the 2nd and 4th of June 2014. The Official Delegation headed by the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Co-operation Lilianne Plume and accompanied by the Business Delegation comprising of 9 firms with annual revenues ranging from 10 million to 1, 2 billion EUR companies aiming to invest in Turkey.

ANKON Consulting was responsible for the overall planning (approximately 1 month), co-ordination and supervision of the events via researching, identifying and contacting relevant Turkish private firms, institutions and governmental bodies with potential for economic co-operation and following up each meeting to optimize the quality of the mission targeted at creating and realizing investment opportunities. 

In total; 55 matchmaking sessions were organized in Ankara for 9 Dutch firms and 27 in Gaziantep for 5 Dutch firms. 
ANKON Consulting was present at the venues to guarantee the effective delivery of the sessions, which demanded great multi-tasking and organizational skills
