The overall objective of the project developed by The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC – OIC) is to empower Libyan entrepreneurs, start-ups, and SMEs through facilitating new sustainable businesses creation and growth via providing a highly-integrated business development services and match-making facilities in partnership with the Turkish SMEs ecosystem. This will definitely lead to a more developed economy, less unemployment rates, new sustainable jobs creation, new products and services and more strategic linkages between business development programs with the local institutions. In this scope, following key tasks will be undertaken:

  • Provide an appropriate environment for SMEs and start-upsto develop their innovative ideas for their businesses growth and access to markets strategies though establishing a business incubator in Turkey that is dedicated to offer innovative means for access to markets, knowledge transfer, and smart partnerships models.
  • Build the Capacity and strengthen the Libyan entrepreneurs, SMEs, mentors, and business development services providersthrough providing entrepreneurship training and on-job internship program in partnership with Turkish SMEs incubators and zones, and private companies.
  • Facilitate the development of new and existing SMEsthrough offering access to new markets mechanisms, building smart partnerships with Turkish ecosystem. This includes raising their standards and creating new opportunities

The overall objective of the project is to facilitate the reunification of Cyprus by encouraging the economic development of the Turkish Cypriot community with particular emphasis on the economic integration of the island, on improving contacts between the two communities and with the EU and on preparation for the acquis.

The following services will be provided within the scope of this Project:

  • To contribute to the preparation of grant schemes, including providing input for drafting guidelines.
  • To support the launching and evaluation phase of grant schemes
  • To provide capacity building (including trainings) to potential applicants and other relevant stakeholders

The overall objective of the assignment is to support the expansion of Turkey’s skills qualification and testing centres into refugee-hosting regions and to broaden the scope to cover sectors relevant for the target population.

The assignment aims to:

  • Support the GCI Voc-Test Centre to achieve authorization and accreditation for skills verification of 13 professional competences in 17 different levels, as identified by a set of feasibility studies undertaken by the GCI.
  • Support the economic integration of Syrians under temporary protection by validating their (largely undocumented) knowledge, skills and competences.
  • Increase the employability of host community citizens and Syrians under temporary protection through skills verification.
  • Enhance access to skilled workers for local employers at the quality they seek and with certified qualifications in the occupations that are most relevant to the local economy.

The overall objective of the project is to reduce anthropogenic GHG emissions to contribute to the global efforts to mitigate climate change in line with the scientific evidence. More specifically, the project will contribute to an increased capacity for transposition of EU legislation and capacity building on F-Gases. The following services will be provided for transposition of EU legislation and capacity building on F-Gases:

  • Preparation of a fully fletched national legislation, establishing data base, conducting e-reporting and registry activities
  • Dissemination of country-wide training and certification programme for personnel and companies performing in this field
  • Awareness raising activities for environment-friendly alternatives of F-Gases
  • Preventing leakages and emissions of F-gases
  • Preparation of an estimation including data collection and survey studies with application of Tier 2 and Tier 3 methodologies
  • Promoting phase out and proper waste treatment
  • Developing a harmonized electronic reporting system

With a budget of 109.150.- EUR ANKON claimed full responsibility of the Project, which entails the forming of the infrastructure for the assessment of alternative models for tourism and managing promotional and communicational activities to establish the branding of the provinces in the region. It calls forth the historical, natural and cultural potential in order to establish a sustainable tourism in Eastern Black Sea Region. The Project also involves the design and implementation of the regional development plan focusing on tourism and private sector development. It asks for the preparation of the master plan of Haçka Yaylası, Uzungöl, Sera Gölü in Trabzon and Ovit Yaylası in Rize province. The Project required the assessment of current status of regional tourism opportunities for the four seasons. The detailed tasks covered include:

  • Awareness rising activities planned and implemented to increase women’s participation in the tourism sector
  • Design and delivery of Communication Plan
  • Workshop organisations and analysis of current status
  • Management of promotion activities, communicating with potential actors at the region, aiming to reach national and international investors

ANKON Consulting rendered services on business plan consulting including the preparation of a draft business plan based on the organization, management, manufacturing and commercial experience of Aytemizler. Most functions of the company to be established were evaluated and analysed with existing and estimated data and efforts shown to put forward reasonably accurate predictions.

The outcomes of this project appeared to be quite encouraging with a reasonably short return on investment period and profitability, with given assumed price, sales volume and capacity realization.

The project aimed at facilitating the process of technical harmonization in Turkey with the acquis communautaire covering the free movement of industrial goods. Activities under the contract included provision of consultancy and training to all parties interested in Measures, Metrology & Legal Metrology, aiming at aligning the Turkish legislation with the acquis communautaire covering the area of Legal Metrology, including Notified Bodies, Market Surveillance, Accreditation, Conformity Assessment; restructuring the organization of the General Directorate of Measurement and Standards of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, such that it can meet the conditions necessary for the implementation of the New Approach and the Global Approach; supporting further development of the Conformity Assessment infrastructure relevant to measuring instruments under legal control in Turkey; increasing the awareness of the relevant manufacturers, importers and distributors of measuring instruments, (potential) notified bodies, user associations and consumer associations and the National Metrology Institute, about the new strategy of the Ministry relating to Legal Metrology.
