05 Jan Environmental and Social Safeguards Specialist (including OHS)
ANKON Consulting is seeking an Environmental and Social Safeguards Specialist to support environmental and social compliance, risk management, and alignment with international standards in energy and infrastructure projects.
The expert will contribute to environmental and social impact assessments, stakeholder engagement processes, OHS guidance, and preparation of safeguards documentation and monitoring tools.
Qualifications:
- At least 7 years of professional experience in environmental and social safeguards in infrastructure or energy projects,
- Proven experience in applying World Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) standards,
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and practices,
- Experience in environmental and social impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, and preparation of mitigation plans,
- Demonstrated ability to integrate gender and social inclusion considerations into project design,
- Familiarity with Türkiye’s EIA regulations, Environmental Law, and labour safety standards,
- Excellent skills in preparing safeguards documents, monitoring frameworks, and compliance reports,
- Excellent report writing skills in English (Turkish will be an advantage).
