22 Nov 11th ADB International Education and Skills Forum: Applying a Fresh Lens to Unlock the Power of Human Capital
Damla Tüzüner, Managing Director of ANKON, participated in the **11th ADB International Education and Skills Forum: Applying a Fresh Lens to Unlock the Power of Human Capital**, held at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Headquarters in Manila from 3–5 December 2025.
The Forum brought together policymakers, practitioners, development partners, academia, and private sector representatives to explore how education and skills systems can respond to rapid technological change, evolving labor markets, and the growing demand for future-ready skills.
The first day focused on Applying a Fresh Lens to Unlock the Power of Human Capital, featuring a Spotlight Session with Education Ministers on bold ideas for the future of education, followed by a Special Address by Masato Kanda, President of ADB.
Parallel sessions addressed inclusive education in line with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, micro-credentials in the digital era, AI-enabled learning, technology use in crisis and last-mile contexts, and emerging EdTech solutions. Discussions also covered innovative financing for education, the role of philanthropy, smart public spending for digital transformation, and AI-driven research and innovation in higher education.
The second day centered on shaping investment priorities in education and skills, data-driven decision-making, lifelong learning, private sector engagement, green and digital skills, vocational excellence, and workforce development for emerging technologies. Sessions also examined skills analytics, green jobs, agriculture education, and the links between education and health systems.
The Forum concluded on the third day with regional sessions enabling more contextualized discussions across different development pathways. Türkiye, as a recent borrowing member of ADB, was represented by the Ministry of National Education, providing an opportunity to share national experience.
Besides other development sectors, ANKON continues to closely follow international developments in the education field.
