Business Development Intern

ANKON Consulting is looking for a Business Development Intern for its ongoing operations in Turkey. The position will be based in ANKON Headquarters, Ankara. The selected candidate shall be ready to start the assignment on 21.08.2023, Monday, latest.

Candidates with:

  • Economics, Business Administration, Political Science, and International Relations (only 3rd year students or recent graduates) Bachelor’s Degree from top tier universities of Turkey,
  • Fluency in written and spoken Turkish and English (Language proficiency will be tested),
  • Full computer literacy, advanced level of competency in MS Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint and Outlook) will be an asset,
  • Previous internship experience in development consultancy or management consultancy (only governance, public sector, or advisory departments will be considered) companies will be a strong asset,
  • Based in Ankara with no travel restrictions,
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
  • Multi-tasking skills, including the ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines and attention to detail,
  • Capacity to work effectively within a team.

The Business Development Intern will be responsible for:

  • Providing direct administrative support for all staff of Business Development Department under direct supervision of Business Development Team,
  • Providing support for daily correspondences with companies, public authorities, local administrations, and development banks (when requested),
  • Supporting consortium establishment processes for upcoming tenders,
  • Supporting tender tracking processes, updating project pipeline regularly,
  • Supporting search&selection of project experts to be recruited for the tenders,
  • Daily documentation of important tender documents,
  • Supporting Junior BD Consultants and Project Assistants on preparation of administrative and technical parts of the technical proposals,
  • Performing other duties requested by Business Development Manager and Business Development Team.

  • The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop solid understanding of working on almost all areas of development and experience on tender preparation procedures for major international donors like the European Union (EU), The United Nations (UN), The World Bank (WB), European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and many other Development Agencies.
  • At the end of the period, ANKON will provide a reference letter with all accomplishments stated, which will stand for strong demonstrated skills for the successful candidate for future career building in the area of international development.
