Consultancy Service Procurement for the Preparation of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Report, Stakeholder Engagement Plan and Management Plans

As part of the construction of BSL2 and BSL3 laboratories by 2U1K and ANKON joint venture, a comprehensive Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) will be carried out to assess the potential impacts of the facilities. This assessment will assess impacts in both areas, including environmental aspects (such as air, water and soil pollution and waste management) and social aspects (impacts on local communities, labour and social vulnerabilities).

The ESIA process will be based on a detailed baseline analysis and will identify potential risks. Furthermore, preventive and mitigation measures will be proposed to ensure that all activities are in line with the World Bank’s Environmental and Social Standards.

In addition, a detailed Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) will be developed to ensure active and meaningful participation of all stakeholders – those who may be directly or indirectly affected – throughout the project process. This plan will identify clear mechanisms for information sharing, consultation and grievance redress with all stakeholders such as local communities, public authorities and civil society organisations.
