The Ministry of National Education of Republic of Turkey joined forces with the Asian Development Bank to launch a new platform designed to exchange best practices in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). 

The second online Workshop on TVET Centres of Excellence, which was facilitated by ANKON Consulting, was organized with the participation of both parties. Mr. Osman Yalçın and Mr. Murat Midas, senior Directors of the Ministry of National Education in Turkey, Mr. Wolfgang Kubitzki, Team Leader of Social and Economic Cohesion through Vocational and Technical Education Project in Turkey, Prof. Dr. Haiwoong Park, Professor at Korea University of Technology and Education in Korea, Mr. Seng Hua Tan, Senior Consultant at ITE Education Services in Singapore and Dr. Ramhari Lamichhane, Director General at Colombo Plan Staff College and President at Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission in Philippines made presentations on the concept and cases of centres of excellence. Mr. Sungsup Ra, Chair of the Education Sector Group in ADB, wrapped up the meeting with concluding remarks. 

The platform had fruitful exchanges on the best practice examples from South Korea, Philippines, China and Malaysia in TVET Centres of Excellence, especially how these centers are funded, managed together with their role on the quality of teachers as well as their relation to the business world.
