The project promotes social and economic cohesion between Syrian refugees and Turkish host communities by improving qualifications and employment opportunities, reducing poverty and vulnerability and stabilising conditions in provinces most affected by refugee arrivals. It seeks to expand access to inclusive, quality vocational education in high-demand occupations for Syrians under temporary protection and Turkish youth aged 14–17. Phase II includes:
- Upgrading 50 additional schools with new equipment and basic refurbishment of classrooms, workshops and laboratories
- Providing support packages to Syrian refugees and disadvantaged Turkish people
- Funding students’ transport, meals, clothing and specialist learning materials
- Supporting awareness, visibility, cohesion and positive teaching and learning environments
- Arranging formal employment contracts
